Mixed Media Monday Faux Encaustic

Just Having Fun

In between our project in class the last few weeks, we've been experimenting with acrylic mediums as an encaustic hack/faux encaustic. It's been fun adding layers of papers, paint and marks,  sandwiched in between layers of mediums.

This week I added cold wax as a final coat to give my piece a more true waxy finish

and I'm really happy with how that one (photo above) turned out.

Here are a few more pieces in process I'm continuing on...

along with a short video taken during class this week.

As you can see I'm having fun with it!
