Daily Painting...

I'm really happy to say and to share that I have been keeping up with my daily paintings...and loving it!

Mostly in the evening (when the light isn't so great)...it seems to be the best time so far and very relaxing before I head off to zzzzland.
I've been home from the Painting a Day workshop for 12 days and have 11 paintings so far (a few from class that I worked on at home added in the mix).

I'm really enjoying it...even when time doesn't want to make room for  painting...I take it anyway!

Succulents & Silver...

I'm really quite smitten with the juxtaposition of prickly, textured succulents and shiny, reflective silver...

...and since I'm drawn to shiny things ... and finding such wonderful vintage silver pieces on my scavenger hunts for the Leaping Lotus space...

Leaping Lotus
...I'm thinking silver and cactus could be just the thing to snap back with  after Christmas is gone and packed away.

So I started my search for ideas, inspiration and resources and didn't get any further than Etsy!  Seems that's my first stop anymore...and I always seem to find what I'm looking for and don't need (or have time) to go much further !  I love supporting the little guy and getting really unique products and gifts...Etsy has all that.

So I put together a Succulent & Silver treasury this morning while on my search for inspiration.

Bunny love...

I'm sitting in Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix...

...relaxing before my flight takes off in two hours...happiness is being early for your flight with no stress. It's giving me a little time to catch my breath and think about my week in Sedona. It was all so wonderful to watch the magic of Carol Marine painting...and helping us all along the way to painting looser.

At the end of the week, Carol pulled 5 names out of a bowl...if you were one of the 5 you had the opportunity to purchase one of the 5 demo paintings she did during the week for our class...I was one of the lucky 5!!!

I wasn't too wild about the subject matter when she set up this still life...but it really grew on me as I watched her brush strokes take shape.

Carol Marine's palette and set up...
...and my little bunny...I love it!

Below are all 5 of the demo paintings Carol did for us, one each morning,
A Painting A Day Workshop...
I am committing to do one painting each day, and can't wait to get started!

Enjoy!

Sedona in the Snow...

It's been three long, wonderful and very chilly days of painting here in Sedona ...

with Carol Marine and 20 fellow students.  Before I slumber off into a deep sleep I thought I would post a few photos of what we've been up to...

Our first morning we woke up to snow !!!
