Back to the blog...

That was a nice little holiday break!

I just noticed I've been away from the blog scene since
November!
Rather than play catch up...I'll just pick up and move on!

This was a project I just finished up this week.
With 15 hours and $205. from Ikea...
I set up the NRB Showroom at the LA Gift Mart.

Studio Update

Stu, Stu, Studio...

I teased you with a Facebook photo last week of
how messy  I let my workshop get!
And...
then I proceeded to tear it up, paint it up and clean it up!!!

Now...I'm ready to share my new STUDIO space with you.

Let it go...

Well...

I really did try to paint everyday!
30 paintings in 30 days.

And the days that I didn't?
I got so stressed about it!!!

Though I needed to catch up with my

so I took a little hanky break!

Good to be back...

It's good & fun to be back painting with the
group of women I've painted with for well over
13 years!

Back On Track...

I still have to fiddle with this one a bit...

...though I needed to get it posted on
 before the day is up.

So here it is for now...
#229 in the line up.
Tomorrow morning I'll see it with renewed eyes
and make any adjustments before I
post it in my gallery.

Sweet Dreams!

Now off to sleep I go feeling good that I'm keeping up
with the 30 in 30 challenge.

Sweet dreams.

Day Nine...

Am I losing count...
or is this day nine?

Yep...day nine.

Today I went larger
9x16
and a little bolder and graphic in my brush strokes.

I'm really loving this design and style.
I have a little more to do to this one,
once I look at it with fresh eyes tomorrow morning.

Till then...
nighty night.

White is not white!

Where is the white?

When painting white objects...
ceramic paint dish, finger star fish, cloves of garlic...
there really is not much actual white in them.

Day Three...

Funny thing about painting and photos...

I can always pick out whats wrong with a painting by looking at
the painting in the final photo.

Take painting three in the 30 for 30 challenge...

...this is the set up for the painting.
Apparently I'm liking painting my painting tools with other stuff
as in my first two paintings!

Day 2

Day 2
30 paintings in 30 Days

I know some of you may not like this style of painting...
maybe not realistic enough for your taste in art.

But...
I love it!

I especially love that I took my time
and for the most part,
did one paint stroke per observation.

I'm pretty happy with it!

You can find it in my gallery at

Thanks for looking in...

Another 30 Paintings In 30 Days

Here we are in September already...
that happened fast!

This month I'll be keeping up with
30 paintings in 30 days...

Day one

I started out to paint just the pomegranate...
but then looked over at my painting medium jar
and
noticed how colorful it had become.
Add in a few brushes and it shows exactly
what I was getting ready to do and the tools
I'd be using.

A Little Hanky History...

As some of you may already know...

I am pretty much in love with vintage hankies!
I really can't explain it...but then...do I  have to?

Back to paiting...

Okay...back to the easel...
and back to a painting a day!

No theme for the month of May...
just happiness in painting.

A planned askew in blue...
just warming up.

I love this Ampersand painting panel!
Lovely to paint on,
they're 3/8" thick
+
have a slot for hanging!
It's all good!

I take that back...

In my last post...
I claimed that what I learned from the 30 paintings in 30 days in January
was that painting is not where my passion lay at this space in time...
I may have been a little hasty with that!

All Thirty!

Here is is...
a little piece of my days in each day of January...
30 Painting in 30 days.

Studio lights out...

Lights out for Sally...
at least the 30 painting in 30 days series.

This was a quick painting I did
on the morning of day 30,
painting everyday for the month of January.

As you know if you've been following along...
these are quick little paintings
with my 1946 Teardrop Trailer
Sally
as inspiration.

It was fun, and a great exercise & warm up to start the day.
Thanks for peeking in each day and seeing what I painted,
along with 1400 or more artists from around the world.

Check out the other artists work...
