Art Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

 Another fine play date...
experimenting with art stuff we've never done before!
It's sometimes scary, though guaranteed to be fun when we're all in it together.

I've mentioned before this very special group of women,
we've been painting together for over 15 years...a few even longer.
You can read more about that HERE.

It's our 2018 quest to meet up every month, keep creative and learn new techniques...
today's artsy get together was all about drip painting.

The drip painting video below by Odeta Dixon, shows what we were aiming for.

Our fearless drip painting leader was Carole...
she's always willing to happily dive right in and show us how its done...
and we are always willing participants and follow her lead.

Paint pouring is a wonderfully messy process...and once the paint started flowing we didn't want to stop!
Below is Jill's first pour...I think everyone of us were groovin' on her color choices.

BTW...
this post is not to show anyone the best way to drip paint, or how well we did it...
its about a group of women artists who just enjoy the hell out of each other...
and this is how we roll.

We certainly aren't shy about using color and experimenting...
and of course there is always eating involved...usually really GOOD eating!

Here are a few of the pieces we churned out today...
each one of us had a different result,
all while using the same basic drip technique.

Suffice to say there are way too many pours to post here!

As a bonus...we got to celebrate Cris's birthday with her...
in her studio, using up all her paints and supplies.
YIPPPPEEEE!
Happy Birthday Cris + Thank You!
😉

Its been a special day indeed...
I think everyone of us left with
hands covered in paint + smiles on our faces and in our hearts.

See you next week.
