Uncommon Objects in Austin Texas...

A trip to Texas this week gave
Daughter In Law Lucinda and I
the opportunity to visit one of my favorite
emporiums...

It's not like any vintage/retro/mid-century marketplace I've ever been to.
Uncommon Objects is not only wonderfully curated...
it is visually merchandised in the most exciting, eye candy kinda way...
vignettes throughout are pulled together from all the vendors
into colorized stories that you just have to stop, stare and take it all in.

Each of the 24 vendors inside this marvelous shop (quite a large shop)
have so much to look at and put their shops, within the shop, together so well
that it makes it easy to see (and want) everything.

Vintages pieces of ephemera, photos, books...
all the elements needed for collage and mixed media art.

Metals in many forms, shapes and sizes...trophies, skeleton keys, old locks.
These would all be wonderful for assemblage art pieces.

Stamps, printers letters, dominoes..
so many, too many special objects of interest
to even list.

And I can't forget objects of nature...butterfly wings and lots of turtle shells.
(I have trouble with the turtle shell thing, but regretting now that I didn't buy one)
🤫

Only they could make a collection of tomato pin cushions look this good!

Needles to say...
if you're ever in Austin Texas...
make it a point to stop by this must see shop.
I promise you, you will not be disappointed,
you'll probably be calling me and thanking me for the tip!

    1. Sally is longing for a road trip...though I’m not needing more things, with my quest to be a more Zen hoarder! 😳😂
