Piece by Piece
an abstract workshop...
and I'm teaching it.
My new favorite place to be
has invited me to teach a day long workshop
on assemblage art.
Of course I said a big fat
YES!!!
This class is for you...
if you're interested in cleaning out that drawer where you save all
those cool little pieces of history, hardware, game pieces, stamps, belt buckles,
bobbin spools, dice, doorknobs, broken watches, old photos, ephemera, flower frogs,
marbles, rusty old things...stuff you can't part with...
this is the workshop for you to put it all into art form.
All skill levels are welcome.
We'll start by preparing your box and getting it ready to be the back drop
to your found and saved items by lining them with papers...
newsprint, dictionary pages, printed papers, and more.
The next step is choosing your pieces that will tell a story
and lay them out in a pleasing design.
(I will also have pieces and papers you can choose from)
Once we get your layout figured out we can start gluing them down.
The finishing touches will be adding glass to the front of your box
and any finishing embellishments to the outside of the box.
It's a full day...and yes, there will be time for a lunch break
to recharge your creative energies.
So if you have that drawer full of memories, nic nac's, stuff...
then let's clean out that junk drawer (we all have one)
and turn it into art!

See you in class!
