A national juried art exhibit
hosted by
Daniel Foster is the juror for this show, he has an extensive 30-year career in art
and museum leadership in San Diego and Southern California.
He is the past Executive Director of the Oceanside Museum of Art (2012-15)
and the Riverside Art Museum (2003-08).
325 artists, from 41 states, submitted 897 images of their art.
It was Daniel Fosters job to jury these submissions down to
just 85 to be hung in the BLACKOUT show.
My piece "Fledgling" was chosen as one of the 85 to go into the show!!!
Completely surprised, excited and honored...
pretty much covers it for me.
My piece was inspired by a tarot card from the Wild Unknown deck of cards.
I woke up one morning and pulled this card out of the deck for direction...
only to realize my direction was already in motion.
The Hierophant represents a hunger for knowledge, deepening your practice,
you've come as far as you can on your own...
open your heart and the mentor will soon appear.
I had already moved into the mentor ship program at Art On 30th,
so this card was an affirmation.
I shared this in class and was encouraged to add crow into the piece I was working on...
soon to be titled Fledgling.
Exactly where I felt in this new chapter of art.
There are 84 other wonderful artists from all over the country,
exhibiting all 2D mediums at Ashton Gallery.
October 27th / 6-8pm
Mark your calenders and come to the artist reception
in celebration of
seductive, powerful, elegant, prestigious and mysterious
