A Series
I'm taking my own advice from the last two weeks of posts...
finding your visual voice and creating a series.
I pretty much always use these colors and sometimes tone them down with greys or creams...though the theme here is a little more playful...
Screen Doors.
This one is titled...
"Don't Leave Your Toys in The Front Yard"...
something I'm sure we all may have heard growing up.
This piece evolved as I was working on it and the title just appeared.
Lots of hidden text here with the names of toy circling the globe.
This was actually an old landscape oil painting.
I sanded it down, put on two coats of clear gesso so that some of the original colors would come through and then collaged the heck out of it. Once I started painting it all just appeared perfectly and became the second piece to the screen door series.
The other two pieces are below...
"Everyone Loves Green Tea"
&
"Coffee House Blues"
I seem to have several series going at once...so it's fun to jump around a bit when I get tired of working on one, the others are there to invite me in. I'm finding it especially enjoying to have this fun little series to come back to.
Hope this inspires you to think about a series...or two...or three...
and get to painting them!
Oh Yeah...I almost forgot...
SDVoyager printed and artilcle about me in the Thought Provokers section of
their online paper...you can read that by clicking the photo below...
