Birds symbolize freedom, expansiveness, and keen vision.
I love it when birds show up in my paintings.
It doesn't always happen, and when it does it's quite spontaneous,
usually not part of the original plan, but always a welcomed sign.
Birds have shown up in my assemblage pieces.
In my mural work...and every now and again in my paintings.
The Fledgling
The Song And The Sting...
Crisp
Looking back...all of the above were created during times of change in my life or my art...some of the meanings below were usually involved.
Symbols and meanings for bird include:
- Liberation
- Air and Earth Element
- Finding your Voice
- Harbingers of Spring
- Luck, love and joy (bluebirds)
- Positive changes (white birds)
- Health (brown birds)
- Wisdom (crane)
- Peace (dove)
- Faithfulness (hummingbird)
- Magic (Owl)
- Strength and honor
When Bird comes to you as a helpmate, prepare for a time of transition.
Perhaps you’ve been so grounded and forget your dreams, or so etheric that you need to get one foot back on firm ground.
Spirit Birds elevate our consciousness and
provide us with self-confidence.
Black Birds Singin' In The Dead of Night
Birds have started showing up again in my art...
looks like I may be in for some change!
Here are my two current pieces that I've just finished.
Fight Or Flight
I'm entering this into the "Mixed Media Madness" show at Ashton Gallery.
Back To Nature
I may change this title to "Back To Mother"...
I've added a few more pieces of nature in and want it to be about Mother Nature.
Midnight Is Where The Day Begins
This is a piece I just reworked, I was never completely happy with it, but now with the addition of the sketched in pears I think it's now better balanced.
I've entered this into the "At Midnight" national show at Ashton Gallery.
It feels good...
and these little winged creatures are welcome in my studio any day!
