The San Diego Watercolor Society is pleased to inform you that your painting Royalty,
was chosen by juror Michael Reardon to receive the Jordan Ressler Award
from the San Diego Watercolor Society’s 40th International Exhibition.
Denise Cerro
SDWS received 874 entries from throughout the US and 22 other countries.
I'm sure it was a challenge for juror Michael Reardon to select
just 100 paintings for this exhibition...
and I was one of them!!!
Pretty exciting news I have to say, especially since I am not a
watercolor artist!
As long as it's water-media and follows these guidelines, you're in.
Artwork must be no less than 80% water-media, presented in a primarily aqueous manner.
Acceptable Mediums: Watercolor, acrylic, gouache, casein, egg tempera, ink, water-soluble pencil or crayon, and collage material (painted by the artist with water-media). Non water-based media may be integrated, but cover no more than 20% of the artwork.
There are so many beautiful pieces of art in the online exhibition...
included are the more traditional water colors,
with many beautiful and amazing examples.
You know how much I love lemons in paintings!
And exciting too, are the more contemporary pieces of art
that include my personal favorite,
Mixed Media.
The video below is a wonderful presentation of the SDWS, the director and
Juror Michael Reardon speaking about each of the 10 awards winner pieces...
my piece is the second in the line up...Happy Dancing as I type this!
Thank you Michael Reardon for including my piece
in this prestigious and wonderful show!
