Five Artist To Release New Work

I've been working on a body of small art pieces that takes me back to my roots as a child being inspired by all things in nature...playful! 

Nature's Playground

Growing up on the east coast and living in the countryside with four siblings and  lots of ground to cover and explore...we were always outside in nature.  In the summertime it was playing in the woods, building forts, climbing trees,  playing kick the can and gathering fire flies at night.  I was the one gathering flora off the forest floor to decorate the fort, gathering leaves to dry in books and using the kick the can/can to collect flowers from my grandmothers beautiful flower beds.  In the winter months it was either outside collecting pine branches,  pinecones and making snow men and snow angels or inside keeping a close eye on the bird feeder outside my grandparents bedroom window that was full of cardinals, bluejays and black capped chickadees.  This days were usually followed by hours of drawing and coloring about what I'd found and seen.

Nature's influences are still with me today and so often show up in my art.   I venture off every now and again, even fight it at times...though always seem to veer back to nature.  It's what makes my heart happy, where I feel clear and creative...it's the natural force in my art.

Along with the new work I'm creating...

I'm joined by four wonderful San Diego artists who've also been painting new bodies of work specifically for this release, and we're calling this event...

We'll each be doing our own creative version of a traditional art opening.

Whether it's a live pop up show, a virtual studio tour, photos posted throughout the day on Instagram and FaceBook or a webpage going live...
