Gelli Plate Meets Assemblage Art

I'll be taking a little walk down art memory lane this week,
and taking my students with me!

Gelli Plate Meets Assemblage Art

Monday is the last week of the Gelli Plate Deep Dive class
I've been teaching online this month.  It has been so fun!

We've created some really wonderful papers on our
Gelli plates...added them into art journals, mono printed cards
and created some cool artwork...and this week we'll revisit
one of my favorite art forms.

We'll gather up our papers and  stuff out of junk drawers, tool sheds, jewelry boxes...

...and put together a piece of assemblage art!

Our gelli papers will come into play by covering our boxes (iPhone or iPad boxes are great for this), shadow frames, small drawers...anything that we can build a piece of assemblage in.  Once we select the papers and cover the surfaces with gelli prints, we'll go about adding in trinkets from our "stuff stashes" and create a piece of assemblage.

I'm thinking no one in class has done assemblage before...so this is gonna be fun!

Here are a few YouTube videos I did on assemblage art...give it a try!

I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this class...
I LOVE doing assemblage art!
Not to mention it'll be a welcomed break to step away from painting and marketing
and just play with creating something completely different.

I'm also part of the Mission Fed Virtual Art Walk starting today December 5th.
It's wonderful that Art Walk is offering artist and collectors a way to
view and shop for art...safely online.

You can link it below...make sure to find me under Mixed Media Art. Enjoy!
