Goin' BIG...

Taking it to the next step...
LARGE
A peek into my week

Just last week I was posting about doing art on the road HERE,
with my iPad and going mobile / digital.

Once we got home from our trip and looked through the pieces I'd created,
I thought a few of them worthy of going BIG.

So I pulled out a few large canvases I've had stored in my studio,
waiting for inspiration to appear on them,
and got started painting...using my mobile art for that very inspiration.

The mobile abstract above was created digitally, piecing together
art I had already crated on canvas and gelli plate...all original to me.

Below is just the start of many layers,  color adjustments and details to come...
on a 36" x 36" gallery wrapped canvas.

The same with the abstract below...created digitally on my iPad,
using my own original artwork.

Again...I have a way to go with this one...more layers, color adjustments
and covering up some of the busy pattern.

I'm learning that's part of what it's all about...
put something down and not being afraid to cover it up with another layer.
Truly a lesson in letting go.
40" x 30" x 3" canvas

These two may finish in time to enter into the next show at

You're invited back next week to see the completed paintings.

ENJOY
(and thanks for stopping in)

    1. Thank you so much Marguerite. I think I finished both pieces yesterday, I'm going to let them sit a few days and then revisit one more time before I sign and enter them into an uncoming juried show titled..."Going Green". Thanks for following along.

    1. Thank you Ellen. Funny thing is I've gone big for a few client pieces, but not my own pieces! It's time to go big... and I'm really enjoying it. I think I finished these two and will post them next week. Thank you for the encouragement!
