On one of my numerous weekly stops
at my favorite consignment store...
I came across this broken down little wash stand.
One of the sides was hanging by a thread of old glue
it was beat up pine that someone tossed out.
I even hesitated
like it may not be worth taking my wallet out to fork over the cash for
such a sad looking little piece
it was only $25.though
so what the heck!

I know this post would be so much better
had I remembered to take before pictures...
but I was so determined to turn it's sad little furniture life around
that I got the paint & stencils out and got right to work.
Annie Sloane's Chalk Paint
Duck Egg Blue
Olive
Old White for the stencil
It was missing it's bowl, just a whole where one should be
so I searched around Consignment Classics
(which also has a great selection of shelf items)
found a simple set of 4 bowls & the largest one fit in just right!
Next I pulled out a new stencil (first time use)
prettied it up
just to sand through to expose the old pine below...
go figure!
Not forgetting to detail it out
painting the inside of the drawer a completely different color
line with decorative paper...
I love the finishing touches and attention to detail.
I acquired it on Wednesday
repaired and painted it on Thursday
waxed it early Friday
waxed it early Friday
had it in my shop later that morning...
pretty quick turn around!
Now...
onto the next stack I'm doing for a client
more will be reveled later.
Enjoy
