Abstract / Impressionistic Florals

Painting floral impressions...
while camping in Grand Canyon National Park

It was a challenge...
and I have many disclaimers to go along with the video below,
which are all mentioned in the video.

Not easy..
• doing a video outside of my studio (or just outside)
• painting in very windy conditions (25 mi wind gusts)
• editing and making movie on my iPhone (for the first time)

I hope you'll bare with me though and take a look at what
I did to keep creative at our campsite...it was such fun.

This is my favorite impressionistic floral painting technique that I learned from artist
Robert Burridge.

If you haven't watched his videos before, please do check him out.  He's all about having fun while painting and has so many videos with different ideas and techniques on YouTube, he'll keep you entertained and inspired for hours.  I usually have him on my computer while I'm in my studio as background and can look up when he's doing something I'm interested in.

On a few of my finished florals I added a little black pen detail and embellishment...
I sometimes like a touch of black.

These are 3 1/4" x 1 1/4" black cardboard tags
and will make great gift tags.

Hope you give floral impressions a try...
and let me know how you do with it.

    1. Yes we are...at least we get to do art and work at that. It was fun to sit in all that beauty and wind and still be happy making art. It was a great, all mixed up get away...good to be home.😎
