A Little Class Please

I haven't taken an class in quite awhile...
a good art classroom isn't always easy to find.

But...
by chance I was introduced to
in North Park, San Diego California.

I'm so excited to show up here once a week to learn about abstract painting...
and there is so much to know and learn!
Founder, owner and teacher at ART on 30th is

Kate is a wonderfully informative teacher who
takes a genuine interest in her students work and is very encouraging.

So far I've completed a few pieces...I think they're complete anyway.
🤔

The two below sold the same day I posted them to my Instagram page.
👩🏻‍🎨

The below group was painted on 4"x4" tumbled marble tiles
a friend dropped by my back door.

The three following pieces I started to work on...
I've learned its good to be working on a few pieces at one time...
keeps the flow going and gives paint layers time to dry in between.

I can't wait to get to this one...
layers of cut up cardboard and pattern paper.

I'm really enjoying finding my happy place in abstract painting...
its very freeing and exciting all at once.

Enjoy.

    1. She is very inspiring...and I love abstract and the thought/non thought process of it. I think it really speacks to my design eye sensibilities.

  2. Love this direction! Are these on paper or canvas? They would look great big, too.

    1. Thanks Carole. We are on canvas, but paper and cradle boards are great too. And yes...my next step is BIG!!! I'm pretty excited about the direction its taking me in.
