At Journaling...
and the places it can take you may be surprising.
I joined an Instagram 100 day art project challenge right around April 2nd of this year...
and have completed 49 pieces of art so far.
By my math, I just realized, I am a bit behind by 10,
though I have been doing art everyday since I committed to it, to myself.
I started out by creating a journal just to do these 100 projects in.
I soon moved out of the journal and onto paper and canvas.
To add to that...
at the end of April I started taking an abstract acrylic class at Art On 30th...
I posted about that HERE
Combining the 100 Day Project with my abstract class
made good "economy of time" sense...
so I did that.
Below are a few of the abstract paintings I've done in the
100 Day Project / Art On 30th class so far.
I entered these two below into a juried show at Art on 30th...
hoping they get in.

The next challenging part of this 100 day challenge for me is going out of town,
with only carry on (no room for art supplies) for two or more weeks during this 100 days.
I am determined to keep going though!
To make that happen I signed up for a course I found on Jeanne Oliver's site
that is all about creating art on your iPhone & iPad.
These are my paint tools and I'm excited to see where they take me.
So, as you can see, journaling is a journey...
whether it be writing, art, music...your desire to get things down on paper,
a commitment to do it for yourself, your growth, just to see what shows up...
...you never know where it'll take you!
ENJOY
I just love your Art. You've given me inspiration to try and start my own 100 day Challenge. Keep up the awesome work and keep sharing them with me. You're truly an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteMary...that is such a sweet note...and I encourage you to do the 100 days. It can be as small as time allows and other days big if you have the time. Most importantly...it's the everyday commitment we make to ourselves thats so great...it feels good.
ReplyDeleteI hope you do and let me know if there is somewhere I can see what you're up to.
Thank you much for the compliment Mary...enjoy the rest of your weekend.
REMARKABLE...I love this post. xoxo
