Matte Medium Transfer

Wildlife + Transfer Skins

There's a show coming up at Ashton Gallery that we're all excited about...
because we LOVE animals!

Needless to say...art pieces entered into the show will surely be all about the
animal families we share this planet with.

I'm working on a triptych...three 16X20 canvases to be framed together...
depicting Zebras on the Savanna.
Did you know their stripes serve as sunscreen and bug repellent, act as camouflage, and help them recognize each other?

I'm adding my Zebras by creating transfer skins with fluid matte medium,
making them transparent and letting the background show through...
allowing their natural camouflage to be the subject of...

"Just Try To Blend In"
(possible title)

If your curious about how to do a skin transfer...please feel free to watch the video below.

Meanwhile...check out the info on the Wildlife show below.
If you're an artist in the San Diego area, your invited to enter your wildlife artwork here...

Fifth Anniversary and Fundraiser

Are you an animal lover? We are. Do you love wildlife? We do. This is the "Call of the Wild." Help Ashton Gallery celebrate their 5th anniversary by lending a helping hand to endangered species.

This is a wildlife show honoring all those majestic creatures that share the good earth with us. If you paint, sculpt, draw, or photograph wildlife, your work is eligible. Let us see what you've got.

This show is a fundraiser and Art on 30th will be joyfully donating to
from its portion of sales made at the shows opening reception.
Event to be covered by NBC Channel 7 News.

So...
come to the show, enter your art, do a transfer skin...in which ever order you like.
But most of all...love and protect the animals of this planet!
They depend on us as we depend on them.
