ALTER EGO's

So here's how it went down...

Kate Ashton, of Ashton Gallery, put the mentored artist name in a paint bucket (there are 16 of us in the group) and pulled out random names two by two. Whoever you were matched up with is who you got to do collaborative pieces of art with...the great unknown! While we are admirers of each others work...its a different thing when you have to step up and put your art next to one of the other fabulous artists work...I think we all had the "I'm not worthy" syndrome going on.

In spite of that, each pair of artists shared a limited color palette, decided on surface sizes and any other extras they may want to add in (like a stop sigh in my partners case)...and then went off to our own separate studios to get creating in hopes that when brought together each pairing would work...did I say stressful?

Last week we brought all our pieces together, some for the very first time...and it was amazing! Unbelievable how well they all worked together!
