Thanking And Planning Ahead

It goes without saying that 2020 has been a rough ride...

I would be remiss not to acknowledge this while moving into 2021!  It's impossible to turn on any media outlet and not be horrified by something going on in our world...daily!  Not to mention the personal loss of friends, seeing family, trips, businesses...life as we've known it, all came to a halt.

There are also aspects that have been very good this year, that I would like to focus on and continue enjoying. Long walks on the beach with my partner, quiet time to read and reflect, time to explore my art, time to learn a few new skills, time at home...TIME.  I don't think I ever slowed down enough to know how much I enjoy time!

In sight of the year we'll be leaving behind...I'm laying the ground work for a positive year ahead.  I'll be focusing on what I'm grateful for, what brings me and those around me joy and live with authority and authenticity in my experience of a better year.  Hopefully that will ripple out into the world and have an effect on those around me as well.

I'd like to first thank all my friends, followers
and fellow artists for your support and encouragement!

If you've purchased a piece of my art, taken one of my classes, followed and chatted with me online or are one of my art buddies supporting each other along the way...for you I am most grateful!  Not only have you supported my art...but my life as a working artist...thank you.

Video above is a glimpse at a few of my pieces that found new homes this year...

I am so humbled and appreciative of that.

Thankful for new habits...

To mention a few...I've taken the time to create art just for me, time to work in my garden and watch it flourish (my Christmas Cactus is flowering as I write this), time for a new found  addiction to jigsaw puzzles with my guy!  We forgot how fun these are and the hours of togetherness they offer.

Thankful for new skills...

If you've taken one of my online classes over the last 8 months...THANK YOU!  Not only have you given me the opportunity to grow as a teacher and learn more technical skills than I ever thought I would need in this lifetime...you've also been a wonderful connection to the outside world during this time of sheltering in! It has been so fun and rewarding to log in each week and see all your faces and art in my desktop gallery!

If you're interested in joining in on the next online class"What's Underneath"

Thankful for time to reflect...

I'm happy about quiet time over this holiday season...it's giving me space to really think about the year ahead and where I'd like to take it...not where it's going to take me!  If we are masters of our own ship, our own art, we get to make it up and be what we want it to be...what will you create?  Write it down and make it happen!

I'll be writing my thoughts out in a new journal made by my friend Ina Solsbery...
Excited about new pages for a new year!

Thank you...
For showing up each week to read the pages here in my blog,
and see what the heck I'm up to in this crazy,
wonderful world of art.

Happy New Year
Now get writing!
