The Barn

New Work on Display!

As you may have noticed, the past few months of hard work in the studio has resulted in a lot of new artwork!
I’m excited to invite all of my readers, friends, and dear ones to see my assemblage art in person!

Joseph Cornell

Assemblage Greats part 2

One of my other favorite assemblage artists is Joseph Cornell.
He was one of the first artists to bring this art form into the realm of Fine Art.
His found-object assemblages can now be seen in museums.

Who Inspires Me

Assemblage Greats: Greg Hanson

When I first got interested in assemblage, I went online to find out more.
This led me to YouTube videos and discovering Greg Hanson, who has become my favorite assemblage/collage artist to watch.

Art Journal = Art Journey

Keeping my resolution, in my own way.

Back at the beginning of the year, I took on the challenge of starting an art journal by making a collage every day of the year.
(See my original post from January 7th here.)

My New Day collage in progress

I’m proud to say I have kept up with my goal.
However, it has not turned out the way I expected!

In with the New

New year coming, old year's through.
Lots to make and much to do!
Out with the old and in with the new.
A bright and Happy New Year to you!

My resolution for 2017 is
“To dream what I want to realize, and to realize what I dream.”

Focal Point

Sometimes it's finding a unique item that inspires me to start assembling a piece.

In this case… a pair of antique opera glasses I found at a vintage market.

Junkology 101

…the place to find the one-of-a-kind vintage treasures

featured in my assemblage art.

As we treasure hunters know, flea markets are one of the best sources for vintage goods of all stripes.
One of my new faves in Southern California, is Driving Miz Daisy.
