Thrift store frames...

Thrift store frames...into assemblage art.

I found three shadow box frames covered in Christmas paper
at my favorite thrift store not too long ago.
I actually hesitated on buying them (I have so much already in my studio to work with)...
but they were only $6. for all three!
I had to buy them.

I covered this one (below) with a pretty script paper,
it allowed the colors underneath to show through
without the Christmas design.

This one is titled "Memories".

Here's how I turned this $2. frame into a piece of art...video below.

The other two of the set of three frames where also transformed.

"Life Adventures"

"All Wound Up"

Lesson learned...don't overlook a good frame at a great price
as the perfect structure to build a piece of assemblage art on.
These worked perfectly.

Do you have any suggestions of what not to overlook while thrifting...
something that you have turned into art?

Happy Thrifting & Creating

    1. Thank you Carole, my dear supportive friend. It's amazing how much time I have on my hands for creating now that I'm not lugging furniture around to flea markets anymore. Loving it!

    1. Thank you Bonnie...I love the creativity of making something from cast offs...partly because I hate seeing good stuff go to a landfill! Thanks for peeking in too🌷
