A walk down memory lane...
with two views of the same room...one year ago this month.
If you don't recall when I turned our living room into my art studio last year,
you can visit that process HERE.
I love how organized it was...
I always know where my scissors are, my gel mediums are stacked in place,
my paper, pencils, paints are right where they should be.
It makes working in the studio so much easier and efficient.
That was then...this is now.
Side by side photos of my studio one year ago,
and today...one year later.
A ten foot work table, wide open to create on...
one year ago and today with three projects on it.
A quiet little nook to page through my arty magazines and books...
today all shoved out of the way for a mirror frame I'm painting for a client.
A versatile wall with wood slats to hang my art on or to work on new client pieces...
Everything is still organized and in its place...
and I long for those early days when it looked so pretty.
AND...
I love walking in each morning to see what the day holds for me,
and thrilled to be putting my studio to good use, everyday.
Do you have a space to work in and mess up everyday?
No matter how big or small...
I hope that you make that space for yourself to create.
I’m working on my studio as we speak! It’s new, as you know, so deciding how and where I want things is a tough call! #morespacemorestuff
ReplyDeleteNo more STUFF!!! We have to resist the stuff...when we have so much to work with now! Happy painting!
DeleteJim is a saint. David would kill me if our LR looked like that! He can’t stand seeing the sewing machine for more than a day! Thank god I have a studio in the city that’s waaay at the end of the hall! #alwayspurging
DeleteI think that's why he agreed to the living room/studio change...it's outta his sight, therefore...outta his mind. Or am I just outta mine?
DeleteVery timely for me, my studio space is under construction as part of a major house remodeling project. The city denied a permit for our first plan and in the scramble to come up with a new plan I ended up with a huge room at the end of the house with windows on 3 sides -- talk about a silver lining. Was just sitting down to sketch out ideas for organizing my stuff in the new space -- love seeing yours.
ReplyDeleteSounds pretty wonderful Rebecca! You'll have a well light, blank canvas to work with and work in! Windows on 3 sides...heaven! Wishing you many happy hours, days, years of creating in your new space!
