I'm so excited to have my assemblage art work
accepted for exhibit at the Encinitas City Library
March 6th through May 1st
Our City Library is one of the coolest places in town!
It has so much to offer the community with events, exhibits, music, classes...
a great patio to hang out and enjoy a cup of coffee, with a book in your lap,
while looking out at the wonderful view of the Pacific Ocean.
Not to mention books, videos, DVDs, magazines, computers...
it's always busy.
My art will be in the six cases at the entrance to the Library...
I love that.
Piece by Piece
I plan on fitting 30 pieces into these 6 cases...
we'll see how that goes.
😳
My favorite pieces made from iPhone boxes.
Garden Shed
A fun little video of my iPhone box pieces.
More than the sum of their parts, each of my assemblage pieces holds a unique value—
I strive to tell a story with each piece. Thematic elements often dance ambiguously,
allowing the viewer to decide what a particular arrangement is hiding behind a cursory
glance.
I hope you'll get a chance to visit this wonderful library and take in all it has to offer.
And while your at it...
take a peek at some of my studio productions from lost and found pieces.
It may be a good time to clean out your junk drawer
and see what art is hiding in there for you.
Will you have an opening or reception? I can't wait to see all your treasures. (-:
ReplyDeleteUnfortuantly no reception. Since the cases are in the main library entrance, they don't have room for a reception like in the big room where you were. I'm happy to be right up front though, I think there will be more visability there...actually...just really thrilled to be involved. I set up this Tuesday and will be on exhibit until May 1st...yipppeeee!
DeleteIs the here an opening night? Length of show, dates, please...love you.
ReplyDeleteNo opening night or reception because of where the cases are...but happy they're right at the entrance. It's a really busy library, always packed...so I'm happy my pieces will be right up front. The dates are March 6 throught May 1...I'm setting up on Tuesday.
DeleteJust looked at these for the 10th time and they are all great! I particularly like Garden Shed because those scissors remind me of Dad and his Bonsai tools (I know those aren’t exactly the same as his), but I always had my eye out for some interesting and small tools for his bonsai.
ReplyDeleteI know...I donated all his bonsai tools to the Bonsai Club he worked with for so many years...kinda regret that now! 😕
ReplyDeleteThanks for looking at my pieces 10 times!☺️
