Still A WIP
(work in progress)
At the risk of sounding redundant...
I'm here again this week, to talk about what was on my easel last week. If you remember, I was painting over an old canvas that already had a painting on it, and next to that I had a canvas that I used to wipe off and unload the paint from my brushes (if you missed that post you can catch up with it HERE). Wouldn't you know...that "wingman" canvas became part of the bigger picture!
Recently, my buddy Susie Zol and I realized we could do larger paintings, that are easily transported in our cars, if we did them in several panels. So that's our new keyword! Last week it was "wingman", this week it's "panels"! I slid the "clean off my brushes" canvas next to the piece I've been working on, continued the painting right onto the second canvas, and now instead of a 30x40 I have a 30x54...I LOVE WORKING BIG!
You may remember this photo of my wingman wipe off canvas from last week...I wasn't sure where it was going to go, a horse maybe...but now it's become part of a diptych!
I'm excited to get back to this, I love when a painting gets to the point that you cannot wait to continue on.
Again...I hope you don't mind me sharing the progress of this piece two weeks in a row. It's been fun to work on, though I have so much more to do with lots of layers to bring it to completion. I'll post the finished painting on my Instagram page @denisecerro when I get it done. Thanks for following it along.
